Vietnamizatoins was a term coined and used in President Nixon slogan while running for president during the elections. Although President used this term Vietnamization he had no actual plan of carrying it out. Vietnamizations was the action of taking U.S. troops out of Vietnam and withdrawing from the Vietnam War. A strategy for carrying out Vietnamization was eventually drawn up. The U.S. basically needed to buy enough time that they could strengthen the South's military enough that they didn't need the U.S.'s help. The strategy however created a dilemma for the U.S. because morale was rapidly declining, but the U.S. had to draw the war out as long as possible to make sure the South could take care of itself. Vietnamization was a risky and costly plan, but the U.S. had limited options.
